Sow what now? Frankly I had to just put the doctors and research on the back burner. The pills and cream he prescribed were for allergies and worked better than anything else had. Frankly I was emotionally spent at this point and just couldn’t continue to focus so heavily on it. I learned to manage.
I couldn’t find a makeup that would work so I just went without and was very careful about what I washed my face with. Now there are loads of makeup companies that are perfect for eczema and for everyone really, but a few years ago that playing field was pretty sparse.
And Now My Stomach Goes Nuts
Flash forward to June 2015 Out of the blue I get sick. I mean really sick. Vomiting, diarrhea and nausea. Just when I thought I was well it would hit me over and over and over. And my eczema has come back. My chin is incredibly dry and now it’s it the inside of my arms and hands. I’m completely puzzled. The pills and cream help a little, but they don’t work as well as they were. And let’s not forget I can’t have a decent meal without being completely sick after.
In all honesty, when I think back to this time it’s so dark. I was afraid to eat. I couldn’t leave my house before 11 because I was in the bathroom. My sweet Sam was at a loss and wanted to help me but didn’t have a clue how. I could hear the frustration and fear in his voice when I would get sick. This was incredibly hard on our relationship. I was absolutely miserable.
I was reluctant to go to a doctor at this point. They had failed me in the past and I felt like I had to go to battle with them to get them to even listen to me. Four dermatologist and a GP and none really took me all that seriously when I asked if it could be an allergy or hormones.
I finally broke down and called my GP, I was sad to learn she was on medical leave. I scheduled an appointment with her replacement.
Side note. During this time a parasite had popped its head up in the Austin area. Loads of cases in Texas and the United States were being reported. I asked the GP if it could be this parasite causing my stomach issues. She had never heard of it. Face palm.
She suggested I take probiotics and yogurt…oh and that skin thing, it’s a rash…put some hydrocortisone on it.
I felt defeated. But I dutifully obeyed and took my probiotics, yogurt and slathered my self in hydrocortisone…cause you know, she’s a doctor…she could be right.
